What We Faced
The client had 12,000 registered learners but a 28% course completion rate. Exit surveys pointed to two culprits: slow video loading and no sense of progress between modules.
How We Solved It
We migrated video delivery to adaptive-bitrate streaming via Mux, cut the average first-frame load from 8 s to under 2 s, and added lightweight progress tracking — streaks, chapter badges, and a visible completion bar. Onboarding was condensed from 7 steps to 3.
Results Achieved
Completion rate climbed from 28% to 61% over three months post-launch. Average session length increased from 14 to 31 minutes. Support tickets about buffering dropped to near zero.
